What's up with all the empty space?

There seems to be loads of empty space on the site, I don't know if it's just me but I'll try and show you a video of it... if not, here's the url: video here

 

I'm not sure if this html will work, but here goes↓

 

What's up with all that empty space on the right and why is the user list right at the bottom (after the adverts even)? Wouldn't it fit in that empty space?

hi all,
Yeah, i saw it, and I replicated the situation... apparently, the new Internet Explorer (what most people use against technical guidance) doesn't like CSS.

The site's completely right as far as any testing goes, and it's all validating just fine... IE just doesn't like CSS. I played around with the style sheets, and what IE is doing doesn't make any sense. It's assuming that a relative div set to 100% means 100% of the page, not the div... that just makes no sense. Every other browser should be working just fine, so to those of you who still use IE, PLEASE go get FIREFOX.
You can get it here. Just download and install it... If your parents ask you what you're doing, tell them a 23 year old windows technician with 4 years retail field experience told you to. Trust me, if you're a teen, they'll thank you for it, because you won't be infecting their computer with spyware and adware as much (not that it's only teens who infect computers).

Sorry guys, but I'm not changing the site just to be compatible with a piece of crap that interprets perfect CSS wrongly like Internet Explorer.

OH...MY...GOD! Xyber, thank you so much for reccomending Firefox! It is so much quicker than IE, so far I've had no pop-ups, and it's much cooler looking (mayber that's just because it's new). Also, before I couldn't see any of the news on the front page, now I can see it all, and, most importantly, NO MORE EMPTY SPACE. WOOOOOOO!!

Wow, that' really odd. My page loads nothing like that (Mac OSX).

Maybe Xyber was doing a lil' Maintnence...

It's always like that with me though, but if I choose another layout it works fine (but doesn't look as nice)...

Edit: I have windows XP with a 1024x768 screen resolution (if that helps explain it)

wow dude, that IS odd... I'm not sure what's causing it, but i'll try to get to the bottom of it right now... lets see if I can replicate the issue you're having, shall we?

yup, it's a problem with the latest IE... switch to firefox dude... I'm a computer repairman by day, and firefox eliminates so many issues, and saves so much time.
